General Description: MCA seeks experienced teachers for the 24-25 school year. Successful candidates are those called to God’s kingdom work, looking to fulfill their God-given purpose and desiring to work in a fast-paced environment with a small community of dedicated, hard-working, loving, and skilled educators. Candidates should demonstrate Christ-like character, be passionate about and feel called to Christ-centered education, and be willing to lovingly carry out teaching duties.
Evaluation: Teacher performance will be evaluated by administration and instructional leadership through a series of formal and informal observations in accordance with evaluation standards, as communicated to all faculty in the Manhattan Christian Academy Faculty Handbook.
Responsible to: Principal, Assistant Principal, PLC Leader
Supervises: Students, student teachers, volunteers, aides
Salary Range: Full-time starts at 40K + [Step increases based on degree and experience]
Qualifications:
- Faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- A current ACSI Teaching Certificate in elementary or secondary education is preferred.
- Two or more years of classroom teaching experience preferred.
- An active member of an evangelical Christian Church.
- Demonstrate a reasonable level of computer literacy.
- Knowledge of technological devices, i.e., interactive whiteboards and document cameras, preferred.
- Willingness to pursue higher education and continue progress in career development.
- Demonstrate the ability to teach students excellently at the grade level for which he/she is hired.
- Must believe and actively support MCA’s statement of faith and sign and live by MCA’s lifestyle statement as a condition for employment and continued employment in this ministry.
- Must pass a criminal background check.

- Demonstrate professional competence and instruction
- Knowledge of content pedagogy and students in planning evidenced through coherent instruction.
- Engage all students in learning using differentiated teaching methods/techniques to effectively minister to the needs of all students.
- Incorporate biblical integration in lessons and unit plans.
- Select and use curricular materials that will promote academic growth.
- Adequately assess student learning and use student data to drive instruction.
- Select instructional goals and create unit and lesson plans that adequately address selected goals.
- Relationship to Faculty/Staff/ Parents
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress and needs, including weekly Class Dojo posts and advance notice of assessments, projects, special events, etc.
- Develop and maintain a rapport with parents and staff.
- Cooperate with the board and administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.
- Meet with staff members to listen, learn, worship, and exchange ideas to help students achieve the school's goals.

- Seek counsel from the administration, colleagues, and parents, and exemplify a teachable attitude.

- Non-Instructional Responsibilities
- Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records to meet the demand for a comprehensive knowledge of each student’s progress.
- Attend and participate in scheduled devotional, committee, faculty, and PLC meetings.
- Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-ordered classroom.
- Demonstrate knowledge of procedures for dealing with emergencies.
- Attend special school events as deemed required by the school.
- Participate actively, celebrate, and promote Christ-centered education in the community.
